CALLING ALL CYCLISTS **New for 2012**
Join us for a sponsored ride from London to Manchester ahead of the Conference. This will be your chance to network with clients, consultants and contractors on a guided ride through the beautiful English Countryside from London to Manchester.

THE ROUTEOrganised by an independent company who specialise in similar multi stage sportives this event will leave London’s Regents Park on the Monday morning to meander through the lanes to reach the overnight stop at Daventry 70 miles later. Following a nights rest and massage the Tuesday ride will continue on the toughest leg into the Peak District to arrive in Buxton 100 miles later. Fully replenished the group will take one of the iconic Peak climbs before descending into Manchester to arrive at the Conference Hotel 220miles from the start in London at lunch time. FITNESS AND ABILITYThe ride is open to all cyclists, but will suit those who have a good level of fitness, i.e. regular commuters with some extra training. The ride will include the opportunity to help with the training pre event with a ride at a sportive 8 weeks before, not only to help increase fitness but also to meet the ride leaders, plus a briefing within 10 days of the event start to explain the ride operational details. This will include a fully descriptive and informative event book, questionnaire and schedule. The ride will be split into 3 groups of differing abilities each having its own ride leader with Garmin navigation and who will be connected by radio to the following vehicles. We will also provide full mechanical and first aid backup, full nutritional support, and massage after each stage of the ride. SAFETY AND SUPPORTRide leaders will ensure the safety of each group and will keep the group compact to arrive at each feed point complete. Each group will also have a following vehicle to carry extra or unwanted ride gear and offer a safety net if a rider needs assistance. The ride control vehicle will act as ride communications to ensure that each leader is fully updated with the other groups and unforeseen traffic and road conditions. A transport vehicle will carry all the ride luggage and spares from the start to each Hotel and locate the luggage to each room, and prepare for the ride arrival. Bikes will be cleaned ready for the following day, checking for mechanical problems and replacing parts where required. All bikes will be stored in a secure location within the hotel. Dinner will be scheduled and will offer extra carbo-loading and a protein based menu for the ride. Similarly, breakfast will offer the requirements for the ride ahead. AFTER THE RIDEOn arrival in Manchester we can repatriate everyone’s cycles and kit to London. We can also arrange train transport back to London after the conference. Cost extra, prices not available until nearer the time. COST AND SPONSORSHIPThe cost for the ride will be £490 which will include accommodation and food. You will be encouraged to raise a similar amount for the BCO Conference Charity. Spaces will be limited to a minimum of 50 people on a first come first served basis so get your entry in now!
